Healthy Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting:

DATA:

In this video, we’re going to talk about the difference between lazy keto and dirty keto. Take a look.

- Lazy keto -
Lazy keto is when you do not count calories or ketones. You primarily focus on counting carbohydrates—and keeping them below 50 grams per day.

Lazy keto also involves consuming a moderate amount of protein (roughly 3-8 oz per meal) and consuming high amounts of fat (without focusing on the quality of fat).

- Dirty keto -
Dirty keto completely ignores the quality of your nutrients. Those who do dirty keto often eat at fast-food restaurants and consume processed cheese and meats.

Dirty keto may also include a lot of MSG, low-nutrient foods, non-organic ingredients, high amounts of omega-6 fatty acids, and trans fats.

On dirty keto, you might consume a heavily-processed fast-food burger without the bun, which—although keto-friendly—contains a lot of unhealthy ingredients.

Overall, the difference between lazy keto and dirty keto is that dirty keto doesn’t focus on the quality of food at all. Those on dirty keto may consume some very unhealthy foods.

I'm sure many people on the keto lifestyle would LOVE to do clean keto but just cannot afford the grass fed/finished meats along with the other high quality products in a clean keto lifestyle. While I very much appreciate Dr Berg and the information he shares with us, I much appreciate other keto YouTubers(Dr Berry) who understand that its expensive to go clean keto and while he would prefer everyone to do clean keto, he encourages you to start with what you can afford until you can afford to go clean keto. That being said, I appreciate the hard work you put in to bring us current information.

I have found eating once a day has lowered my food bill by a good amount, therefore I am able to afford better quality foodstuffs.

I have no other choice but to do dirty keto because like I have said before I live in a small Caribbean island where grass fed or organic are not readily available and when they are they are pretty expensive . I don’t eat out and I do consume kerrygold butter, coconut oil and olive oil. The kale I consume is almost always organic . My ground meat comes from Uruguay or Paraguay can’t remember. So I am doing the best I can.

I can’t say thank you 🙏 enough Dr. - You helped change me and my lifestyle. I had limitations before starting your healthy keto and IF but today I don’t. I’m 42 years young, single and feel like my life just started. My body and mindset changed...THANKS from the bottom of my ❤️ heart and God bless you!!

It took me a while but I have learned to shoot for Healthy Keto and accept lazy or dirty keto when That’s all I can do. I was all or nothing and that was way worse for my health because I was always on again off again and when I “fell” off I used it as an excuse to eat tons of the worst carbs imaginable.

Well to be fair I did lazy cheap Keto and since on a budget would spend every now and then on organic food when possible. Still worked for me and lost 50 pounds, also helped that I did exercise every now and then. If I had the money I would definitely be more strict but regardless in the end I achieved my goal👌

Right now, I can only afford foods that are regular grown, and it’s expensive now!

But thank God, I am still losing inches, burning “stored body fat” so I’m doing good.

I still feel “clean” inside! 😃

This realisation that I've been doing lazy keto has left me feeling dirty!

The best keto lifestyle is the one that works best for you. It's your health and fitness journey, do what works for you.

I am on lazy Keto then and it is not as bad as dirty one. BUT! it is very $$$ to follow healthy keto I think.
I eat what I find in grocery. Difficult to find organic food in this time of the year.

I started out dirty and progressed to lazy. Ironically I just described getting healthier, lol.

Dr. Berg has a very responsible and disciplined keto routine. For must of us including myself I try to have one day of dirty keto and 6 days of healthy keto. I do always have a rule of zero sodas and other things that I just cannot consume since I feel its pure poison. I used to work in Coca Cola and remember the soda tanks cleaning sessions I always found animal skeletons in the bottom of the tank....so the tank opening at the top was left open at times and animals would drop in for the syrup. Thats why I dont drink Soda and also due to the high carbs in it. My gold standard is to take Niagen, Vitamins and Omega 3 every single day. Have turmeric, cinnamon, zapote or matasano leaf tea, nettle tea, or any real tea from the leaves of the trees in my farm. I also do some cardio and stress my body with cold showers to activate my metabolism. I have thermal showers close to the house and go there once per week too. I enjoy these videos and somehow I feel like Dr. Berg is reminding me to stay focused and I try to do so 90% of the time which has literally saved my life. Until yesterday I was thinking I was about to die, I followed Dr. Berg routine for 4 weeks. I was told I had thrombosis my whole body was numb, today I woke up without thrombosis and feel like a whole new person. Thanks Dr. Berg for saving my life and teaching me how to be healthy God bless you!

There are plenty of YouTube channels promoting Keto but doing so with terrible quality. It gives Keto a bad name. Glad Dr. Berg did this video.

"You're not concerned about that."

But you should be if you know what's good for you. Thanks Dr Berg.

Most of the time I try to do healthy keto. Been buying more grass fed and organic. It is quite expensive at times so when money is tight, I have to go down the lazy keto, but I have also been doing intermediate fasting so that helped a lot.
