I just backspin and yell “DJ (insert name)!” Then hit air horn 😂

Out of all tips, this one is something you need to cement in your brain and skills.

This is a great example for loops and exiting as you start your transition.
An alternative would be start your incoming track ahead of time but phrased correctly and just Beat Jump back right before the mix point for the cleanest on point transitions.

Or just be better at timing your mixes perfectly.
That said working in a busy club where the DJ Booth is too easily accessible to customers who can come distract you, there’s merit in a good mix point recovery plan.

Great tip! Never new what beat jump was for but then again I’ve only been playing with controllers for less than 6 months. It would probably help to read through the manual!!! OG vinyl DJ here! Lol

That’s why I loop the beginning of the track, beat Match. And wait to bring the fader up and release when it’s due

My technics 1210s doesn’t have this feature…….

I do this all the time. Sometimes someone's asking for a request at the crucial moment or something and I miss it. Except I sometimes beat jump the first track back instead of the new track forward. Depends how the new track comes in. Slow rise = new track forward. Hard drop = old track backward.

I've always used a loop to recover or deliberately owned the mistake and use a drop mix . Truthfully never used beat jump yet .

But pay Attention, for example the cdj2000 beatjump feature has a small lag which means you have to readjust the song

Thanks for that tip. I always just pressed the ESC button or the ANY KEY in my laptop. 😂😂😅

Just own the mistake, and recover. These are very useful but they are taking all the fun and craft away.

Nice video. Very informative. Btw yesterday, I had the crowd rocking to your new song

Or Just loop first track 2 bars on a neutral point... for those without beatjump Feature

Play it and quickly press sync, beat match, then bring the track up

Duh why didn’t I figure that out. Thank you

Good tip. But your explanation is confusing because you say „bring in your track“ twice at different stages.

I just press shift and move the platter, goes extra fast with shift. That works too though

I've got a way better solution. One is that I never use a laptop when DJing but that's besides the point. It's very hard to switch to beat jump and get it all done within two bars, that's why I set cute points 32 beats after each intro.

But yes, if I'm not mixing an into, sure use beat jump after 32 beats or 4 bars. Just wait. Or don't miss.

When u bring the track back, does ur 2nd song start playing or u have to press play at the exact same time? .cause u can miss the cue a second time Cause it might start sound like a loop if i do that 4 times. Also im pretty sure on pause it sound easy but while your song is playing but the time u say dam i mossed my cue u dont have time to press all this before the 4 bars
