Changing the number format of a Footnote or Endnote

I did not have ANY of those options in my tool box. I needed to convert from 1, 2, 3 numbering to A, B, C (continuous). This is how I did it: highlight the endnote, I highlighted "1". Press any key, I pressed "A". A message popped up warning me that typing over footnote will delete it, this pop-up also gave me an OPTION to edit it. Click OPTIONS. Here you are greeted with the pop-up window to edit number format, numbering, etc. After done click: "Apply changes to whole document".

This didn't help at all. My MS Word task bar doesn't look like that.

this video didn’t work for me and either did a comment on this video but what I had to do was highlight the footnote then right click. then you click foonote… and it gives you the option to change the format
