Excel: How to format numbers in thousands or millions by Chris Menard

In Excel numbers in the thousands, millions or billions with a lot of zeros are hard to read. Here are two Excel tips for displaying large numbers as either thousands or millions. We will use a chart and then follow that up with using format cells.

Keyboard shortcut for format cells: Ctrl + 1
The format for Thousands: 0, "K"
The format for Millions: 0,, "M"

Thank you, Chris! How about Hrs in the ten thousands. Ex 62004:25:00 shows as 00:00:00 in the pivot and I am unable to change the time format to [h]:mm:ss in the raw data?

How do you run a calculation that takes an existing number 64.9 and converts it to 64, 900 within the same cell (not a new cell in a different column)? I'm using Excel 2016. I've tried googling it and used many different formulas suggested online, but none of them produce the results I need.
