"This remake of the Harvest Moon GameCube game is difficult to recommend over other farming sims with more expansive worlds, more interesting stories, and more satisfying progression. Marvelous has admirably updated the graphics and gameplay to cater to a more modern audience, but those improvements only do so much when the heart of it feels as dated as it does. Its standout feature is still the way the town and NPCs impressively adapt and age over the course of its potentially 30-year campaign, but there aren’t enough noteworthy characters or rewards to make you want to stick around that long, either. Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life doesn’t offend, but it sure doesn’t impress either."

Did the reviewer miss the part where the game actually does stop you your first time entering any of the farm buildings to go over Takakura's notes? Or the multiple times during the opening cutscene where Takakura tells you to check his notes to learn about the crops, the animals, etc? Try turning your console on before writing the review next time.

The game does not take 30 years anymore. It was streamlined for the remake. Shows that the reviewer didn't actually play the game. The game is only 6 years long with the 7th being endless mode

I’ve been waiting to play this game again for 20 years. (I’m 32 now). This game is calming, relaxing, beautiful and adorable. This game holds a special place in my heart. 9 out of 10 from me too.

I've been awaiting a remake for years. I'm 31. It was my first harvest moon and got me into the series. It is my fave out of the series. I've collected every game since then including when the title changed

Also, the notes pop up consistently when you interact with new things. I'm pretty sure it was also mentioned that the crops spoil with the seasons, multiple times. Not sure if the June 27th release was different, but this guy has definitely not played this remake

30 year arc.... 😂 this reviewer didn't even mention about (1) hybrid crops and (2) how the child's careers work, and this is one of the most important aspects in this game
