Even though I've been playing drums for over 20 years, I do quite like watching these basic videos to see how people explain and teach things that can so easily be taken for granted. I have to say, I always make sure I watch your shorts when they do come up because you have a remarkable ability to explain things in a really accessible and first principles way. Teaching beginners is probably amongst the hardest things because you can't assume any prior knowledge. Keep up the great work!

I need some fills to play with my shuffle, I’ve made a few up but I’m not super satisfied with them. How do you do the fills that you use on a straight beat on a shuffle? It’s groups of 3 vs groups of 4 or am I over complicating it?

I tried for ten minutes to explain to a drummer why a shuffle on a record we were listening to was 6/4 and not 4/4. He couldn't get it. He kept saying "one...two three...four". It was driving me nuts.

No one can teach you how to play the drums/ percussion instruments or any instrument in my opinion. You can learn to read notes which is important.
