How to Choose a Tie
Показать описание
Believe it or not, I sell a handful of ties to my clients in Phoenix every month. Men these days don’t really wear ties, they dress super causally. But there are a lot of guys out there that still wear ties. I’m going to do a series of videos here on YouTube that talk about how to wear a tie, how to pick a tie, etc., to help guide you when you’re picking out ties.
So, the first thing I talk about is who wears ties. A lot of guys -- if you’re going to court, if you’re an attorney, if you’re an accountant, if you’re giving a big presentation – they want to look polished and presentable, so they wear a tie. If you’re giving a presentation for a $50 million deal to high-level executives, you don’t want to roll into the meeting in a polo and pants, you want to dress professionally. Second, for weddings, parties, and events, a tie is a great way to show a little color. It’s a fun accessory, it’s lively, and it can play up your navy or gray suits. Third, some guys just like to wear ties! It’s a great way to accessorize, show fun color, elevate your look, and not just wear blue shirts and gray pants all the time.
So, just to give you a high level of something to think about when you are picking a tie: You want to think about the seasons. In Spring and Summer, you want to think about wearing pastels. Lighter colors are great for May through August, but you wouldn’t want to wear these shades in November, December, or January, no matter where you live in the world. Looks for Fall and Winter are definitely heavier. I’m here in Arizona, so we don’t really have seasons, but ties are a great way to show a transition in your wardrobe to look more seasonal, festive, and dressier! I love pastel ties, but I wouldn’t recommend a client wear them in December or January, even in Phoenix.
