It's not often you see a brown tie being worn. I dig it.

I govern my neckties with a rule of 3 for formal wear - 3 colours if it can be contained. For swimlanes and Ginghams, a solid tie - not too busy looking over the shirt patterns. Then for solid plain colour shirts, business stripes tie with the base colour brown, and other colour to match the shirt, as close as possible. Plain solid coloured shirts allow play for patterns, and that brings in motif ties, again with colours matching the shirt colour as close as possible. Not entirely no brainer approach, but without putting in some thought, its a challenge dressing to the rule of 3, and yet appear effective.

I own 3 ties from The Dark Knot. Two of them are on this video (4:23 and 5:48). Great ties from a great company. I highly recommend them.

The Dark Knot folds their ties into fourths and then into the box. There are major fold lines with they way they package their ties. These folds don't necessarily relax out of the fabric. It may take some steam or a trip to the dry cleaner to undo this.

I love the fact that you concentrate majorly on formal wear because you are a formal person. I've seen a bunch of your videos and I love them, but I really feel that you can drift your focus to something less formal and not really suit related but are rather T-shirt related or light clothing. Anyway love your videos and i really wish to see more and more of them.

I tend to go solid colours for the most part, I don't have too many occasions where I need to wear a suit (and these days can go more casual without a tie at all), so keeping it simple is very effective

I really enjoy old 90s Versace ties. They work well with any occasion, lots of extravagant artwork, but they also have really nice subtle and neutral colors

I would pick slate blue, burgundy, sand and black as the essential ones. Ideally solid color or conservative pattern. It goes with pretty much every suit and every shirt and covers a wide range of real-life situations.

I think the brown necktie makes the outfit stand out more. It also works great with the blue suit and shirt.

Antonio, I am a bit bias to the blue, but am going to have to say that the better looking of the 2 was actually the brown. Fantastic contrast with the blue shirt and darker jacket. Definitely going to have to see how that would blend with my blue pinstripe vest.

I like the brown tie significantly more. It contrasts more with your clothing and adds variety to the ensemble, which a blue jacket and blue shirt need.
