I was "caught" listening to this in school today. Of course, the reaction was "why on Earth would you listen to this? It sounds terrible. Its not even music."
But what makes this so pleasing to listen to, for me, is the way slipknot can so masterfully use sounds - in such strange and unconventional ways - to create so may different emotions in a person. This one gives off such a mentally disturbed serial killer vibe, and what's so interesting is how 99% of people get the same kind of feeling from it. If insanity had a sound, slipknot has managed to capture it in this song. I think, beyond anything else, that is what makes them such a great band...the ability to take an emotion or a picture and convert it into a sound, and have most people feel what they are feeling. Props to you.

I was ten when I bought this on CD about two years after it came out. I used to think the lyrics were "I humped a rabbit and got sick" lol

i remember being 9 or 10 listening to their self titled for the first few times. this opening track creeped me out so much and set the stage for the rest of the album which completely turned my world upside down. at the time i had no idea something so disgusting, intense, and heavy could exist. fell in love with this band since then and haven't looked back 20 years later. i dont really fuck with slipknots new stuff though. nothing will match the intensity and chaotic horror of their old stuff.
