Fusion 360 Post Processor Coolant Disable Location

Hello everyone, welcome to At-Man Unlimited. We are going to go under the hood on the Fusion 360 post processor again, this time we will move where the coolant gets Disabled. Most default processors disable the coolant after the home move. If you have a completely enclosed machine it’s not a big deal. However if your machine is open at the top this can make a bigger mess then you would like. So let’s move the coolant disable to before the Z home move. But be careful, not all machines are the same and you may run into other issues so make sure to test all modes of coolant you have.

I really don't care if you look dead or a little dead... the content speaks for its self. Keep up the great videos. Dave

Extremely helpful info Tim. I'll be re-watching this again when I get the machines in the shop! Thanks!

Thanks Tim, I worked on this all weekend, then found this video. Been subscribed for a long time, wish I would have found this sooner. Helped me get the post processor modified. THANK YOU!!!

Outstanding video! Spent a few days with Fusion 360, amazing where CNC CAM has gone in 25 years (from Autocad and 1st version of Smartcam). Great explanation on adjusting M9 in processor (vs. doing it old school).
Thanks Tim!

Hi Tim,

Your post processor stuff has been most interesting and very much better that the video that Autodesk put out. I'm in the process of setting up a 1984 Denford Orac CNC lathe that I've upgraded with new electronics and LinuxCNC.

Thanks again! I just edited my Haas post again, its becoming quite customized! I've been messing around with the tool comments at the top of the program and for each section now. Great stuff!!!

PS Got my components, wasn't as expensive as I thought. Now to to put them together, you are costing me money.

That was a total complement, strange as it was. I had no idea how involved the post processor was in relationship to the cam, very interesting. I have been looking to purchase a Haas tm1 if I can get one at a reasonable price. Keep up the video love them. dave

I like the straight forward approach and pace of your videos. Not too fast or to slow. Do you use G Wizard? If so what are your thoughts on it for feeds and speeds?

Do you use that FANUC post for your Fadal, or do you use the Fadal post? Also, now that fusion has the ability to do wrapped toothpath's w/ 4th axis have you had any interest in looking at a post for the Fadal? I guess folks are having a hard time with the rotational 4th axis and the Fadal. Autodesk seems to have the 4th axis indexing w/ the Fadal, but the rotational 4th axis on the Fadal seems to be headache. What are your thoughts?

Great video, nobody has covered this yet. I have a Centroid CNC and Fusion puts an "O" filename that the controller doesn't like, I know I can fix it by just commenting out that line. I assume you made a new Post Processor so Fusion doesn't come along and over write it.

Great videos. It would be better for me if the texts were more clearly

thanks for making these videos. i just bought a seat of HSMWorks Pro as I am a SW house and need 4-axis and did nto want to reprogram parts in Fusion that change in SW. I have discovered the Fusion post works with HSMWorks. I am not sure its the other way around as i have not tested it. have you tried?

Soon I am told I will be receiving a license of Fusion Ultimate & Inventor with the seat of HSMWorks Pro so can test it at some point.

What video editing software do you use? I tried camtasia but it cannot process .mts files that my video camera creates. Its just hangs when i use edit these files. I have Pinnacle Studio 20 that is awesome but it cannot record webcam and screen so for instructional videos its not so great.

I got one for you, I use the mitsubishi post, and when my machine finishes or does a tool change it runs the spindle until it reaches the Z0 of the machine, I want the spindle to turn off at the retract height of .2 or whatever it's set to so I don't have to listen to it whine at 8k for 20inches, I'd like it to be changed for both the M6 and the G28
