Glad to hear you had a good time there. I just got back from San Francisco, where my sister. and her husband, were showing two of our second cousins, from Japan, around the city. They came over to visit my sister and mother in Monterey, then spent two days in San Francisco. I went there for their last two day and spent the rest of the week there on my own. I just got back to Seattle today. They're back in Osaka, having had a very good time in California.

the "garages" you refer to down upder are "Servos" which used to be short for "Full Service Station" but nowdays they aren't so much. For those elsewise - a servo usually has petrolium, deisel, natural LPG gas that you can fill your car with, a small 7/11 (minimart) and a Diner which most of the time can provide fresh cooked meals. Some also have cleaning bays where you can clean your car, blow up your tyres etc.

Tammy, you're the only person that I know of that can make talking about toilets interesting. And I agree about kitchen appliances. If nothing else, one needs a kettle, a toaster, and a microwave.

Welcome back to the old country. Glad you made it back in good condition. Now you can rest a bit and get ready to go back to work (boo!). I've missed you so much and missed your smiling face. I'm sure you will share some more of your trip and share some of what you bought in the Land of the Rising Sun. Take care, I await your next vlog.

WeLass, Your trip was amazing. Japan is such a incredible place, they hold and love tradition sacred but are so technologically advanced. Does that make any sense. Love seeing you, glad your safe. Sláinte 🍻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Kettle? I have a modern microwave!! It heats up water for many purposes, including teas. What i can't believe is a country with 31st century toilets, but 15th century sinks, no soap or whipey-technology. Nice to see you back (i can't possibly do the whole type like a Scot thing). Wonderful that ye met the Japanese world. Welcome back, love.

Youtube was a bit chilly when this wee ball of sunshine was lighting up the lives of Japan!

Back in high school part of the reward for doing Japanese was they would send us to Japan, one of the hotels we were at for the trip had one of them fancy toilets... My friend and I decided to see what would happen if we maxed out the pressure of the water jet. We did and it shot a hole in the ceiling... about a minute passes with us just staring at it and we then walked away.. very quiet..

Here in the U.S., self checkout machines sometimes have large signs saying they ONLY take cards, no cash. Our machines are glitchy, primitive, and poorly maintained. That's not even mentioning how a bizarre number of people can't operate them getting angry and abusing either the machines and/or any employee nearby.

A wee shelf in the cubicle... genius. We're lucky if we get coat hooks in ours. Apparently the range in Wishaw are firm believers in the customer rolling their coat up into a ball and sitting said ball on their lap if they need to take a shite.

I laughed when you talked about going back to "boring" British money. Our US money is downright ugly after my Scotland trip. I loved the variety of your money and almost saved a Scottish tenner simply because it had otters on the back and a woman on the front. (Unfortunately my very last night we went out to dinner and they only accepted cash and that was my last note.)

It's so interesting. In planning for my trip to Scotland I watched tonnes of your videos. Now, here I am planning for a trip to Japan and I still get to watch your videos!
