The giant isopod is a fascinating deep-sea creature that belongs to the crustacean family. They are commonly referred to as the "cockroach of the sea" due to their physical appearance and scavenging habits. These creatures can grow up to 2.5 feet in length and weigh as much as 3.5 pounds. Giant isopods have a hard exoskeleton that protects their soft bodies, and they use their sharp claws to break open the shells of their prey.
They typically inhabit the deep waters of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans and are known to live at depths of up to 7,000 feet. While they may not be the most attractive creatures, giant isopods play an important role in the ocean's ecosystem by helping to recycle nutrients and providing a food source for larger marine animals.

I want to congratulate the Giant Isopod for not selling out to Big Crab and not crabifying themselves despite their genetic proximity to crabs.

Fun fact : The smaller type of isopod is parasitic and lives on the fish gills or tongue, including the fish we eat.
So always check the gills and mouth.

Meanwhile on Isopod Podcast on IsoTube: "This is the human being, they live on the land eating cows and birds, but sometimes come into the sea, where they grow flippers and breathe through magic shells on their back and they never poop."

the difference between this and a cockroach is that I’m okay existing on the same planet as this lil guy

When I die I want to be reborn as one. No taxes, no debt, no buying food, just swim.

I have a stuffed isopod I snuggle with at night. He keeps the dark dreams at bay... Seeming how he's so used to dark environments and higher pressures inspires me to know I can survive those things too, and he's my guide through the worst of it

I remember doing a presentation of the Giant Isopod once. Got Golisopod and Wimpod for introducing me to these little aliens😄
