Oh. Going down the well for unknown reason? Suprise for you. The game has an ending, in which it is explained why the heck would you jump down that well. I won't spoil it here, but just search for Downwell ending on YT, anyone interested.

Honestly Caddie, you were saying that the "Shaders don't give me incentive to continue" however for me, silly little cosmetic changes like that are EXACTLY what keep me going. So thanks for this Tinker Time, and I'm SO getting this on Steam next chance I get.

I never had a problem with any guns in Downwell, as they can pretty well be divided into two categories: weak, glidey guns that help you set up for headstomps, and powerful, jolt-stop guns for a more weapon-centric playstyle. As long as you know when to switch up your mentality when switching up guns, there should never really be a gun to dislike.

You do get rewarded for going fast, specifically through combos. A combo of 25 will get you health for example.

Framedrop is only on ios, pc doesn't have this kind of issue.
Yeah, also this is one of a few number of fresh games I played recently and I enjoyed it, it's gorgeous.

Hmm, a slight correction: there is a combo bonus for falling while killing enemies without stopping (in other words, for being fast and having quick thinking). I wouldn't recommend putting too much attention on the combo meter at first, but it becomes essential to get extra lives. You also get one minor reason for why you're actually going down the well after you beat the game and go past that devilish boss.

Other than that, fair tinkering.

The design of the game reminds me a lot of Nuclear Throne. Like the healthbar, gunshot animations, and how it seems you can get upgrades after levels
