Have you tried Olaplex? What were your experiences?

Honestly, most helpful video I've watched on YouTube about this.

After I watched this video a few months ago I purchased the Olaplex gift set (No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, No. 6; 100 ml bottle each) and purchased No. 0 separately. I have fine hair, it hasn’t been colored in over a year, not bleached, but I do use heat when styling it. Because my hair is so fine it gets damaged extremely easily! I CANNOT stand having damaged hair, I have to immediately get a haircut to get rid of the damaged bits. With the hair salons closed due to COVID, I decided to give Olaplex a try.

Let me tell you, I have been using No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 consistently for the past almost 6 months now and the amount of damage (from heat styling) has drastically reduced, my hair has grown a lot due to a reduction in hair breakage, and I don’t feel like I need a haircut yet because it looks so healthy. I love No. 6, it’s very good at taming your hair and gives it a nice shine too without looking greasy, but only use a small amount of it. I wouldn’t bother with No. 0, I thought that was the most pointless product I have ever used. I have repurchased No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5 and I have yet to run out of the No. 6 (100 ml bottle has lasted me almost 6 months) but I will repurchase when that bottle is finished.

I bleach my hair at home, I ended up with banding at my roots as I didn’t let it process long enough, so I gave it a couple of weeks and bleached over the banding again. I didn’t have any other choice as it just wouldn’t come out with toner and I knew I was going to have to do it. My hair started to fall out (not loads but enough to let me know this was caused by the bleach damage), and it was really gummy. I made an emergency visit to Sally’s and got olaplex number 3. After the first use my hair immediately stopped shedding and I wasn’t terrified to put my fingers through it. Now it’s so much healthier and I honestly think it is worth every penny.

I have fine and wavy hair and gray and olaplex n 3 helped me a lot but i can use it only 2 a month otherwise my hair will get very tough like metal or something. I think this is good because I keep it for a long time and it saves me money...sometimes its good to have fine hair😅

Informative, great teaching Dr. Anne. I stopped coloring and grew my hair out. It is a bit shorter than yours with layers and very similar in structure (fine but lots of it). I love my long hair and grey. I use #3 and #7. I feel they keep my virgin hair extra healthy and shiny. And, when using these products, I can use heat styling tools with confidence for those "beachy waves." Thanks again.

Thank you for this!
Trying to explain this to people can be quite difficult. Many can’t get past the fact that this doesn’t make your hair feel like a traditional deep conditioning treatment does. They don’t seem to understand that this isn’t that. This is working from the inside out. Deep conditioning treatments work on the outer layer of the hair shaft. It’s the inner structure that Olaplex works to repair, not the feel of the outside of the strand. After I do an Olaplex treatment I always follow up with a deep conditioning treatment and those combined are a freaking POWERHOUSE! My hair feels and looks great, much more healthy.
I haven’t been really good about caring for my hair properly lately. I ran out of half the products and got lazy replacing them. The summer is now over and I just ordered everything (0, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) and the entire month of September will be dedicated to repairing my summer & dye damaged hair!

Thank you; I'd read how Olpalex works - I like to know these things - but from your video I now *understand!* As a veteran DIY bleach-er I love this fab technology being available for home use. I have No.0, 3, & No.8 < I found 8 heavy, but hadn't noticed the instruction to avoid hair roots. Curious scent; like herbs /meadow flowers & chemicals, nice, & strange 🙂 🌷

Hello Doctor Anne, l seem to have binge watched your videos in the past few days ☺️ that’s because (as I mentioned before) you keep your videos short and right to the point 👌 on relevant subjects ...
I have recently bought Olaplex no 3, 4, 5 and 6 and used all in the same routine. I have frizzy wavy fine highlighted hair an now with the lockdown is in URGENT need of a good cut 🥺 Since using Olaplex my hair is less tangled and doesn’t snap easily when I brush. I think it’s worth investing in it! Thank you, Catalina / UK.

Hi, I have long and thick hair but i have bleached my hair twice so i started to get split ends and my hair towards the bottom became quite rough and brittle. Would you suggest that olaplex is a good buy for me? I normally prefer natural remedies like oil and ricewater but I would also like to repair the damage which has been caused by the bleach.

Thank you :)

I can't go without olaplex. When I got my hair basically white it allowed me to have long hair that was still soft and manageable. It was added to my bleaching and I'd get a monthly treatment. I went without it while blonde once and nearly lost my hair. This actually saved it lol. I notice if I skip a month of olaplex because my hair will knot easily

I have really long hair (hipslong), dark, wavy to curly and healthy. I thought Olaplex (3-7) makes my hair more healthy or prevents from damage - am I right? After your video I'm now not so sure anymore...
BUT thank you for your - easy to follow and informative - information! <3

You specify damage caused by bleach. Does it repair damage from home products covering grey roots? Thanks for the informative video.

Hi Doctor Anne,

I don't dye or style my hair at all, but my scalp is quite oily and during the last two years I noticed hair loss. My hair is medium. Should I use Olaplex? I also heard recommendations of Living Proof, have you ever used that brand and what's your opinion about it?
