The mental issue seems to be in the doctor, which is projected on the patient. It is a fascinating condition. The doctor believes it is impossible they could not know something therefore the problem must be with the patient's mind. But, in reality the problem is with the doctor's mind. Their own narcissistic world view is incapable of conceiving that there could be things they do not know or may not be known to anyone. That there may be things yet to be discovered. It is quite obvious that these things are true, and yet there is a total blindness to these facts by the physician. Thus, conversion disorder really is a phenomenon describing the person making the diagnosis.
