$2, 300 for a 3-bedroom in Dorchester, but that's because the owner is also my relative; otherwise, it would be closer to $2800

If you want a 1 bedroom that’s is ‘decent’ as far as condition…you’re looking at $1900…you have to be spending over $2.1k for a 1 bedroom that is in good condition

Tylically $3000/ mo. and that doesn't include heat usually and....the rooms are small and mediocre looking.

I can remember when you could buy a three family house in Boston for less than $20, 000 for all three units (back in the early 1970's)!

My brother had to move out of somerville to Cambridge when every landlord in his neighborhood decided to jack rent up 400 bucks last year

The South used to be cheaper, but the prices down here are the same as Boston now.

Not gonna find a decent place in the area under 2k, unfortunately. Even that number is low. Expect 2400+ for anything decent in the city.

2 bedrooms in Dorchester $2500+. My mortgage for 500 Sq ft condo is half that.

I went to rent. Showed up for tour, other potential renters showed up with backpacks and younger looking. I was overlooked many many times. They prefer students than local residents. Its been 2 years...
