8:45 Considering the Seedot line was based off the Tengu, I see this design as being more overt with it being a tengu.

Also a lot of the Beta Sprites look like something out of Pokemon Quartz.

Also people on the competitive side of Pokemon made shitposts about Typhlosion somehow falling to ZU again after the leaks.

Good to know you mention that the story leaks are non-canon unlike some people. Also should be noted that like the folklore in gen 4 is meant to have been written by people in the pokemon world of the past when people didn't know much about pokemon and thus only feared them and considered them monsters that would only cause harm

While these stories are kind of messed up, they seem to be a very interesting attempt at creating folklore for Pokémon. So these are not stories meant to be taken literally but more to teach lessons or tales passed down for generations and warped by time. It’s weird but so is folklore

To be fair the vast majority of pokemon lore is a vague folklore story about a legendary pokemon and the NPCs insist it isnt real...only to reveal theyre a real thing. So it's not that surprising people took that at face value.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention the leak that gives a reason why staff want to not continue anime show with ash or a big OPPS moment in the leak of most of the staff( not sure if it’s the game or anime staff) personal information getting leaked out too. Yeah ouch
