I love fashion dolls and I believe that dolls are the best toys for people to improve empathy and to explore their creativity! The real story behind the Elissabat frightfully tall doll: Back in 2014 the Monster High team was making plans for a 17” Cleo and Lagoona. Then when the idea was presented they were told they didnt have the budget for new facial sculpts that would’ve been required to make these two characters. The team then realised that Elissabat and Draculaura had almost the same face sculpt (in the original FCA! storyline Elissabat and Draculaura were cousins, so they looked very similar, but by the time the story changes the dolls were already in production and the resemblance stuck.) so with their remaining budget they realised they could only make one more 17” doll, Elissabat.

I still don't have the three frightfully tall MH, but I think that I'm going to see to buy them (sadly they never released them in shops in Italy). I think that it's glue the "problem" in Clawdeen's hair. I have the basic one that has the same problem.
From what I can remember Jackson Jekyll/Holt Hyde was the only one that transformed.
The body was basically a taller version of the MTM body.
The earrings are supposed to be the rim of some wagon wheels that were in the circus, or something like that.
The "horses" in Harry Poter are the Thestrals, they can be seen only by who have seen somebody dying (Harry could see them because he saw Sirius die).

Are you thinking about the Thestrals from Harry Potter? They are the skeletal looking, gaunt and ghostly winged horses that can only be seen by persons who'd witnessed death at least once.

Elissabat was made because she had the same face as Draculaura and making Lagoona would've made Mattel invest in the making of a new mold, and I guess that was not an option at that time. 🤷🏻‍♂️ It's sad, because she would've looked beautiful.💙🐠

gooliope doesn't have parents! she's an abandoned lab experiment, which is why she ended up in the circus. so she's basically an orphan, and she wants to find out who made her. because of the reboot, we never got to find out :(

EDIT! forgot to mention the date of when she was made in the lab is on her neck piece.

I’m not sure if this is common knowledge, but I only found out about this like a month ago... Elisabat’s skin tone is the exact same as Draculaura’s; I’ve always thought her skin was a pastel lavender or something 😂

Freak Du Chic was SUCH a good doll line and I would love to collect that line (along with sweet screams) The whole concept is just amazing and the designs were so well done. Freak Du Chic Twyla and Clawdeen are just so perfect.

Sidenote I bought this doll new in box like 5-6 years ago it must have been... For $15. I knew nothing about Monster High, but it was a gift for my niece and she was over the moon happy.

Frankie was my favorite character, I didn't see her as whiny at all. She was just dealing with being the new girl, and for real kids, you feel like you're the new girl for a long time. So that's kind of what Frankie reflected, being someone who was confused and didn't feel like she fit in.

If they really wanted it to be a random character, Whisp would have been a more logical choice for this line rather than Elissabat. Remember her gigantic height when there was an eclipse in 13 Wishes.

I never had a monster high yet, I would definitely like this huge version, a pity that they are rare and expensive.
