great timing for this, just in the past month or so i've been trying to learn how to handstand
i find the biggest problem is my wrists get fairly sore though, so i've recently started working on strengthening them

After properly learning all these things i got injured and stopped calisthenics. Now every summer when i go skateboarding i try to do 1 or 2 handstand and every single time i do a 30 second to a minute handstand first try. Its insane how good these things keep whrn the foundation has been properly trained

Lmfao, this is so perfectly timed. I just started learning handstands 5 days ago and I’m at the balancing part. I need to learn how to not fall to the feet

I've been learning the handstand by just doing 10 or so attempts every day. I'm approaching it more or less like how you would learn to walk, my brain will eventually figure it out and I just need to keep doing it untl it does. After about a month and a half I'm can get a few attempts where I can hold it for 5 or more seconds and I'm subconsciously balancing on my hands. Just a few minutes a day is all it really takes.

The plank progression is the best way to build the core strength and shoulder strength that you need.

There was a handstand competition during lockdown over Zoom with 100 participants from all around the world. The winner was a Canadian bloke who held his handstand for over 20 minutes. He had terrible form, huge banana, but held it longer than all the participants with decent form. The second place getter held nearly as long and he had excellent form. Anyway the point is not to fret so much about banana form. If you have inflexible wrists maybe that's the best you can do. Sondre Berg does them that way.

I dont kick up. I lift myself up from a headstand. I have already mastered standing on my head. I am now figuring out how to master a handstand. I will follow this routine and see what happens. I have already made it to a one minute handstand.

What sort of training you need to do to hold 60sec? And how long do one need to train to reach that 60 sec hold?

How much does the overhead press translate into Handstand strength and how much weight do I need to be able to push before I can relatively safely try out a handstand? I'd reckon it's my whole bodyweight which is around 85kg right now and I'm overhead pressing 35 kg for 10 currently.

I am a complete beginner. I have realized the biggest hurdle is that you must over-balance frequently in order to let your proprioceptors to adapt. Otherwise, your body cannot sense where the balancing point is. But that's the fear for beginners.

For some reason I can hold and do multiple handstand pushups only on parallettes. I struggle hard to even hold with bare hands.

50 Isnt that a bit too much? Wouldn't you be too tired to perform the second exercise, the chest to wall hold for 60"?
Any feedback appreciated. Thanks
