When you choose to lay down arms, you choose to leave yourself at the mercy of armed men (whether criminal or government, though there is significant overlap) and are left with only the hope that they will be fair, honest and responsible. When that hope fails, you will then only have the hope that they will come for your dignity and not your life. And when that last hope fails, you've not only damned yourself with your unwillingness to resist, you've paved the way for your tyrant to do the same thing to everyone you care about.

edit - this is the way to taking back the country - through congress. You campaign at a local level and people can get in that you would not expect. Who would have thought a guntuber would have a solid chance at winning in a runoff against an establishment candidate?
