DC has been swinging for the fences recently, and they don’t necessarily have the box office results they were hoping for. After the Sneider cut controversy, their shared universe sort of took off in a bunch of different directions, and for a bit nothing seemed like it was coming together. The ship was sort of righted when a few interesting crossovers took place in some more recent movies like Black Adam and Shazam, but now it looks like everything up until this point might be going out the window in favor of a fresh slate.

With James Gunn on the helm and judging from the trend of mediocrity from recent MCU's productions, I dare say that the 2nd half of this decade and the 1st half of the next will be DCU's golden era.

Peacemaker Season 1 takes place in the DCEU. It's the same Justice League lineup and the Suicide Squad cast return including Amanda Waller, John Economos, and Emilia Harcourt. We'll have to see if Season 2 is retconned to take place in the DCU but it likely will knowing Gunn wanting to keep things simple.

I personally think if WB and DCEU could have Created a corresponding Chronological order Zack Synder Universe in 2009 with the Beginning and an End, by starting with maybe starting with the 2009 Dark Knight, 2010 Batman 2, 2011 Hal Jordan's Green Lantern, 2012 Man of Steel, 2013 WW1, 2014 Batman vs Superman: dawn of Justice, 2015 Aquaman, 2016 Suicide Squad, 2017 Zack Snyder's Justice League, 2018 Shazam 1, 2019 Birds of Prey, 2020 WW84, 2021 Flash, 2022 Shazam gods of Fury, 2023 Black Adam with no Superman in ending credits since it was JSA Era that time, 2023 Aquaman 2 and Ending the Universe in 2024 with the Justice League 2 vs Darksied with Martian Manhunter and Hal Jordan edition.

Almost similar thing to Marvel but in 2025 James Gunn introducing his New Universe with Suicide Squad 2 that also features Peacemaker without creating another Superman movie or any another JL Movie but a new verse of interesting Unknown DCEU Heroes.

Maybe if they focused on the main hero’s of DC first before making movies about B grade characters like 2 suicide squads movies and Birds of Prey, then maybe the cinematic universe would have worked better. Just a thought.

The difference between Marvel and DC is the heart of their characters. It is obvious in DC films and serials that they emphasize on the “human-ness”of the character. Marvel focuses on the “super” of their heroes.

Maybe it’s because I am over 50, but I prefer characters who have heart. And that comes across in Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Shazam, Aquaman, a bit of the Flash, and Blue Beetle.

The “heart” does not come across in the Marvel characters. You get action films but you are not invested in the personal growth of Hulk, Thor, Captain America, the X-Men, or the Dantastic Four.

That is the opinion of this comics fan.
