Thanks for putting out the content even though you've been sick lately. I'm new to the channel and am a big fan of the videos you've been making, been looking at moving away from Windows for my development environment/work related tasks and dual-booting, so that I can just have Windows for my multiplayer games that use anti-cheat. Please take care of yourself and stay safe out there!

It is not fully open-source though, most likely. Quote from Phoronix:
"For this initial AMD Coreboot support for modern CPUs it would likely still be depending upon closed-source bits, similar to the Intel Coreboot support still pulling in binary blobs."

Thanks for sharing your story about Legionnaire's disease - I think we all need to take these concerns very, very seriously. Thanks for taking the time to raise that awareness, we all benefit from it and I personally appreciate it. We all need to take good care of ourselves in these very unstable times.

First I would like to regret that you contracted this bacterium. I'm happy for you and your family is fine. Interestingly in February I was in a rented holiday apartment and I had the same symptoms that you mentioned. At that time, barely heard about COVID-19 here in Brazil. I was also cured with the use of antibiotics. Now you raised a doubt whether or not I had this bacterium too!
Anyway it passed !!!

Send a hug to Brazil! I'm sure you have a lot of listeners and fans here !!

Health always!!

Welcome to Europe and good to see that you are really looking after yourself properly after the recent bout of illness.

Glad you're recovering, thanks for the linux chat, but also the Legionnaires section. Legionella has been part of my job for over a decade now, and it's good that people are made aware of the risks, especially as you point out with tourism re-opening etc. It's obviously not good that you had to get very ill to become aware of the issues.

Imagine a Linux laptop with an Over-Provisioned Drive, Coreboot, Ryzen4k, a 1440p 16:10 120Hz touchscreen, big touchpad with preconfigured gestures, USB-C, IR face recognition, Slimbook Battery and Manjaro KDE... With Tuxedo's custom-etched keyboards and a System76 chassis design... I'd buy that whatever it costs

Downside to Ryzen based laptops is the ram architecture the manufacturer chooses to use. Speed of the ram the manufacturer uses will determine the performance the laptop produces. Elementary OS is pretty good after unlocking ppa support, best Ubuntu based distro I’ve had success with. Can’t wait to see what the next release will bring to the table.

wait why isn't your chapter index working on youtube hmmm
i think if you format it as "00:00" rather than "0:00" and "02:27" rather than "2:27" it _should_ work

i didn't skip fwiw

As a manjaro donator it is my homebase I spent a year on mint you get my feet wet I like a more bleeding edge but stable operating system therefore I chose what I chose. And have had literally no qualms at all. My system runs light and if it’s something that I can’t fix I just wipe the LS and I am 10 minutes down from getting everything again. I hope Core boot opens to all the other OS is as with everything in the open source community as is the name...

I'm glad that you opened up and shared your experience, I listened the whole thing and I'll admit that for the first time I was more interested in that than the rest of the linux talk haha. In my opinion, I think content can always wait, health can't. Take care of yourself!

I guess people understand that you're still recovering, Jason, and I do hope that you recover faster and well. So please, don't push yourself too hard, man.
Also, I miss eOS too, but it's not there for me yet. My notebook really struggles with it.

Hej, I m here for the first time listening to your podcast, first I wish your health keeps getting better!! And very interersting listening, thank you!! I have a very specific question, as you mentioned Lightworks: It is my all time favorite video editor, and personally I think it is the best out there, better workflow than final cut, premiere and the likes. BUT : it is not very stable on all of my machines, especially when projects are getting bigger (just editing a experimental feature with 8TB video material Would you tell me what your most stable lightworks setup on linux is? Although investigating a lot and solving problems with help of the lightworks forum, it is still not optimal... At the moment I use it on manjaro and run sound through jack via cadence bridge. we lightworks fans have to stick together ;) ;) thanks again and cheers!

Search the web for "legionnaires disease windshield wiper", it's an eye many know the dangers of not using windscreeen fluid in the reservoir.
