JustAnswer Customer: GE front load washer start/pause button is flashing but the washer will not start
Pearl Wilson: Assistant: What happened just before your GE washer displayed this message?
JustAnswer Customer: running a load of towels
Pearl Wilson: Assistant: How long has this been going on with your GE washer?
Pearl Wilson: Assistant: What have you tried so far?
JustAnswer Customer: just started today
Pearl Wilson: Assistant: Anything else we should know to help you best?
JustAnswer Customer: i have unplugged it and tried to reset it per some other instruction that ZI found to no avail
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Hello, this is Mark.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: I’ll be assisting you today.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Ignore the phone call request pop-ups - - unless you want a phone call… those are automatically sent by the site, not me.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: You will see them pop up.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: If you DO NOT want a phone call - ignore them….
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Check the door - open and close the door fully 2 to 3 times, then press the start button and see if it will continue the cycle
JustAnswer Customer: Nothing happens
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: What is the model number of this washer so I can look up the correct model for you
JustAnswer Customer: I just checked the water pump filter.
JustAnswer Customer: It did not drain so I drained the water and used my shop vac to suck it out.
JustAnswer Customer: Customer attachment 12/22/2019 1:37:56 AM
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Ah.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: ok.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: that is why it's not going to do much.
JustAnswer Customer: I changed the door boot seal this afternoon.
JustAnswer Customer: I turned it on a short wash and everything was going ok and then it just stopped.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Ok.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: and did the drain filter have debris in it?
JustAnswer Customer: No debris
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Ok.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: when you replaced the door boot gasket did you disconnect the door switch?
JustAnswer Customer: No I just moved it aside as per the video instructions I used.
JustAnswer Customer: It went smoothly and got everything back together.
JustAnswer Customer: The wash started without any problems then just stopped
JustAnswer Customer: It was through the wash cycle and into the rinse cycle
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Reason I ask is because if the door lock/latch is having issues it can cause this behavior.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: One of the connections might have come loose.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: You can try to unplug again - but for 5 minutes, then plug back in.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: press and hold the power button or start button.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: for 3 to 5 seconds
JustAnswer Customer: I checked all the connections on the control panel.
JustAnswer Customer: It might be the door switch.
JustAnswer Customer: I will have to open it up and see.
JustAnswer Customer: That sounds like a tomorrow project though.
JustAnswer Customer: I have tried unplugging it for a while and holding the start switch.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Ok.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: you can also try this before you try anything else.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: might just be a computer error.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Unplug the washer, plug it back in.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: no need to wait.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Within 30 seconds of plugging it back in.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Press these buttons.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: one after the other.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: SIGNAL - DELAY START - SIGNAL - DELAY START
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: If it worked you will see t01 on the display.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: A test should start to test various parts of washer
JustAnswer Customer: Nothing happens when I do that
JustAnswer Customer: If the door is not registered as closed will that prevent it from going into test mode?
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: I have never tried it with the door open before.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: but I don't think it has any affect on it
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: I do know that it can take 3 tries sometimes to get it into the test mode
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Yes.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: door has to be closed and registered as closed
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Just checked that
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: So it does seem to point to a loose door connection
JustAnswer Customer: I removed the front door seal and all the plugs are plugged in.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Which is usually why the START button flashes anyway
