Kenshi | 2023 How to Start Guide | Episode 15 | Building Walls

This series features a complete beginner's guide to some of the very basics in Kenshi so you can get a good start to this wonderful but potentially overwhelming open-world game. Kenshi is a deep, living RPG where you can do just about anything you'd like with an amazing amount of customization. This guide is just one way to start the game which I think is easy to understand for new players so they can learn some key systems in the game and know what gear to buy and where to go to make some decent money and explore what the game has to offer. I completely avoid spoilers and put things as simply as I can to hopefully ease the learning curve a bit to Kenshi, because it is truly a one of a kind gem.

I've been burned a few times on walls so here's a couple of tips to avoid problems I've had. After you've set out your walls, before building try & put ramps both sides of your gates. Often for me anyway for one reason or another I can't somewhere & won't be able to get guys up to good turret locations so need to rearrange my walls a bit. Another tip is when the walls are built, shut the gate & try & get someone to go outside. If they can't then your walls are good but sometimes they can get out by going under the walls & you'll need to rebuild that section..

In terms of defensive structures it's useful to know about Star-Forts and Redoubts, which were pretty much the apex of fortifications prior to the gunpowder age. not sure the AI tactics in this game are complex enough to justify a FULL star fort, but it should still be possible to get some useful ideas?
