Not every time a guy says he has a crazy ex is a red flag. I had an ex try to kill me. She was crazy. It's how often he mentions her.

Second story: The dad is a horrible father. Abusive and neglectful.

Story 2: He doesn't see OP as his daughter anymore because he remarried. It's something that appears to happen sometimes when a parent remarries where they just jump right into their "Real Family" and push aside their "Old Family".

Honestly, their Golden Child treatment of Lily is going to screw her over in the future, because that kind of mentality should've been dropped at toddler age, seeing a teen (and later a grown adult) acting like that will just be a disaster.

like that's so wrong. that is her aunt! her mother dying doesnt erase that relationship.

That girl in the story was at least 15 why does she need someone to watch her when she's at home? also that step-monster is a real piece of work... moves into her fathers house and think she can just start making demands of the former residents. and daddy is a coward and a weakling.

Sometimes the "crazy ex girlfriend" is an absolute lifesaver, which also happened to me. I met my ex's ex as a chance encounter at a party when I had freshly broken up with my ex and he was pressuring me to get back together, so I was contemplating it. She sat me down and told me the truth of the abuse he did to her and completely convinced me to remain steadfast in my decision to break up while also supporting me through that. It did unfortunately escalate afterwards and I'm still recovering from what he did to me 4/5 years later but it would've been so much worse if I stayed. She was such an awesome person that didn't deserve what he did to her and I'll always be grateful for her warnings.

8:02 I won't lie, I froze up at this part. I was assaulted by a guy I was dating in high school, I was blamed for the whole thing, in big trouble.. Alot happened. And one of the first people I had talked to after the incident was the guy I eventually started dating, and still am dating. He's the best man I could have ever hoped for, it was all very serendipitous!

the fact the dad of story 2 decided "your aunt isn't family anymore" is disgusting, and his new wife seems to be a really bad person too ... both just want a slave at home, I'm glad OP had a place to be to flee the situation. calling OP a brat while her own daughter keep being insanly spoiled and ridiculous could be almost funny ... but it's not, it's pathetic

How I met your Mother had a fantastic gag in an episode about this EXACT kind of thing. The episode had a running sound effect joke of glass shattering when they relized something about someone they had always just glossed over.

Also, another thing is that I’m going to be a godmother. My aunt was told at 22 that she would never be able to have kids and she is currently 4 months pregnant and I’m so excited because if anybody is going to be a good mother, I know it’s going be her. When she came to visit and tell me I think she saw I was a little worried. I told her I am so excited and happy for her and nothing will change that but she’s the only family I have right now and don’t want to get left behind like I did at home and we cried and she promised me that she was filling in for my mom and she will be there for the rest of my life, whether I like it or not. I am planning the baby shower and I can’t wait for the baby to be here.

Story #2: The only spoiled brat in the story was Lily.
Also, pretty rich for stepmom telling OP she should be grateful that she can stay in their house. Didn't they move in with OP and her dad? She had no ownership of the home whatsoever.
And OP's dad let her down massively. She's better off with just her aunt and friends.

2nd story: There is no more sure-fire way of making sure your child will hate their siblings by forcing them to spend time with each other. It's equally true, maybe even more true, for step-siblings. As someone with siblings and step-siblings I am speaking from experience. It is not true that you have to bring your siblings everywhere you go, and any parents who says that knows it's not true. They are telling you that to guilt trip you to do their job for them.
If they like each other they will become friends. If not they will still accept each other's company and at least not hate each other. But if you force them to hang out, they will hate each other and you.
Friendship is a lot like a fart. If you have to force it, it's probably shit.

Story 2 is wild, the dad is downright evil to say that OP's aunt is not her family anymore. That is truly despicable behavior and has absolutely no place in this world.
