The Lord's my shepherd, I'll not want Hymn - Westminster Abbey Funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II

The hymn, 'The Lord's my shepherd, I'll not want', a metrical translation of Psalm 23 found in the 'Scottish Psalter' of 1650, set to the tune CRIMOND, by Jessie Irvine (1836 - 1887). The descant used in verses 2 and 5 was composed by W. Baird Ross (1871 - 1950).

This hymn was sung at the State Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, at Westminster Abbey on Monday 19 September 2022.
May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

What I loved about the queen's funeral was that all the hymns were well-known. No trying to be smart and impress with hymns few were familiar with as happens at some funerals. Very much a reflection of the queen herself - no pomp just wholesome, straightforward thought for her end of life service. God Bless her .... may she rest in peace.

Our Lord and Savior certainly guided our late beloved queen's footsteps!
Why? Because HMTQ Elizabeth ii surrendered her will and her life to Christ
She reigned with trust in and obedience to God and with service to her country and people.
