In an effort to share what I've learnt about the role of structural engineers in construction over the past 2 years, in this video I take you through the 4 stages that structural engineers go through in order to bring a project to life. Good explanation. I would also pick up the design contribution of connections by the fabricator, specialist contractors for specialist areas and the temporary works specialist. I would also reflect the importance of multi-d coordination, risk and assumption management and integration. I have been doing this for 43 years since by masters and retiring this year. Love this work, I would do it all again if I could.

I wanted to work for a gc as a super in infrastructure. Fortunately/unfortunately I studied civil engineering. Structural analysis was fun once I learned it but I unfortunately feel like most of my college experience was a wasted endeavor for what I needed in my career. It was good though for learning how to think and problem solve.
