We started our k-1 September 8th 2023. They issued her visa last week. So basically it took 11 1/2 months.

when the packet gets to the US embassy abroad do they send the instructions on what to do next to the petitioner too? and not just the beneficiary, ? i am asking because they dont really send mail like that where my fiance is from and i dont want it to get lost or stolen. i want the instructions sent to my email too (petitioner) thank you!

I ended up getting an rfe and I have already responded to it. It was for a passport size photo of myself which I did in fact send with my petition. So I have no idea what happened to the one I sent but I did go ahead and have another photo taken and I sent it in. According to the online case status, they did receive my response to the rfe and they say that the process has resumed. My guess is that it will be sometime in July before I hear anything if nothing else happens. But I do realize the rfe most likely slowed things down. I jus wish I knew what happened to the other passport size photo I sent to them. However, I doubt I will ever find that out. I'm not the only one because I have read recently where many others have received rfe for the same issue, the passport size photo and they also sent one in as well. Makes you wonder what kind of game they are playing at the uscis. But there is nothing we can do but comply with the rfe and hope for the best. So I'm guessing it could be around late June or early July before I hear anything else.
