Christi, thanks for featuring Angelina Jordan again. I see your channel is approaching 100k subscribers. Greatly deserved. Angelina's Official is approaching one million subscribers. I wish I knew a way to convince those who have never subscribed to any channel, that subscribing helps BOTH the viewer and the content creator, and it is FREE to subscribe. Angelina will debut a new song, "Bad Valentine" on September 20th, with a music video here on YouTube AND in concert, at the Alex Theatre, in Glendale, California. We are hoping for more NEW songs at that concert.

Sorry in missing your live this morning, Christi. Toby Gad is actually a German songrwiter/producer who is based in L.A. As for as why Toby selected Angelina? I was actually able to ask Toby online about how he found out about Angelina. He told me that he saw her performance of of Bohemian Rhapsody on America's Got Talent The Champions 2020 and he knew he had to work with her. They have already created 8 songs together, one of them is called Bad Valentine, which will be officially released September 20th, the same day of her Glendale concert at the Alex Theater. From an online article, Toby thought some of these songs would end up on her Old Enough EP. He even received high praise from the bosses at Republic Records when they heard the songs. However, in the end, none of the songs were used. This event actually caused him to have a nervous breakdown. After recovering from this, he felt he had to take more control of his songs and to produce and release them the way he wanted to.

I’ve been subscribed for a long time now as I really appreciate your music knowledge & constructive comments. I also think Angelina is absolutely unbelievable. Another unbelievable artist that you reacted to some 12 months ago is Amira Willighagen, who you were keen to do more reactions on her more recent performances. Amira is now 20 y.o & doing her Batchelor of Music at Pretoria University & is singing more beautifully than ever before.
Maybe react to “Down From His Glory”. or “ Amen” or maybe “Phantom of the Opera”. They all showcase her magnificent abilities.

Missed the live but so nice to hear from you again. Angelina is a breath of fresh air for the art of music. Sometimes the world only gets a "one off" and I firmly believe that Angelina is one of those. We were graced with her and if you look at the whole picture, I don't think we get another one---ever. I could go into paragraphs on this but I will not, it is either seen/understood or not. Hope you listened to the entire EP. The lyrics were stunning as she told her story, wrote a song for her Angels, brought you into the songs on a personnel level as she was not only singing about her journey but also about the listeners lives as well.
"Bad Valentine" would be the best live performance I have ever witnessed if it were not for her performance of "Unchained Melody" at the Nobel Prize ceremony. Her choices, the way she meshed with the orchestra, were masterful but I really can't describe it with justice. Note: "Bad Valentine" is small venue with a violin, cello, and piano and Angelina sings it from the perspective of the bad valentine. Be sure to use the official version from James Thiel's site for this one.

I agree with you Christi. Angelina’s jazzy vocal style and back phrasing is what makes her unique. If she tried to change her vocal style just to try to be more commercial or contemporary than she wouldn’t be herself. She can still use that style in more pop type songs. I don’t think that would hold her back from popularity. To become more mainstream I think it’s a matter of promotion and exposure which has really been lacking. Even then with today’s highly competitive music industry there are still no guarantees but I still think she needs to stay true to herself.

Thank you Christi great to have you react to AJ again you get her, she is a pioneer, breaking all the rules she always makes pop less poppy just love her, there are many performances at different venues all fantastic I do like a live small venue in London called Sofar just her and Toby great audio to get every sound she makes she is majestic. Toby absolutely loves her he is a massive fan giving her the highest praise about this song he said when asked about working with Angelina "it has been nothing short of inspirational, she has the ability to channel profound emotion (feeling) through her voice and has brought a greater depth to this song" also the greatest artist and singer he has worked with, so that bodes well for their colab, Toby has great jazz roots as well from his parents and starting very young, always love jazzy AJ. So while you have been gone she has got better and better and we just love her more💜👣😇

Fabulous reaction Kristi! Your reactions and informative analysis are at the very top of all YouTube I think. Angelina with her collaboration with Toby Gad is becoming a serious combination of great songwriting composition and production. that will help Angelina move her vocal artistry to a greater audience for sure. I think Angela is really coming into her own at the age of 18. Her maturity level is off the charts and her unique vocal dynamics set her apart from a lot of the singers of today. She is definitely a singer that will never need auto-tune or any voice enhancements because they will actually ruin the performances that she does. I want to thank you for continuing your wonderful journey with our beautiful barefoot princess and if you get a chance I would suggest her recent. well, not that recent but December concert at the Nobel Peace Prize event in Oslo, Norway where she was invited to perform and her rendition of "Unchained Melody" was an utterly magnificent with the world famous Kork orchestra and one of her finest performances to date. I'm very happy to see you again analyzing one interpretation of Angelina, welcome back Christi! This is a new and fantastic live version of the song, with the wonderful echoes of the church that make it even more magical her voice, I would listen endlessly to her wonderful and powerful voice with that incredible low register of her and those wonderful progressions, I admire her fantastic musical sensitivity more and more, it seems impossible, but every song, simple or complex, which she rediscover becomes a new and splendid song. For me she is simply unique and with an incredible melodic perception. I love this composed and passionate performance, it's absolutely healing for the soul but even so crossed by an incredible musical power and structure, I love when in the second part, the soft background accompaniment of the piano and cello gives a wonderful and silky backdrop at her incredible voice. 💛🧡❤
