Solving Linear-Quadratic Systems

In this video I explain what a linear-quadratic system is, show how to determine the number of solutions to the system, and show how to find the solutions (ie. the points of intersection).

What happens if the equation can't be factored. For example -x^2+x+6

Dumb question, why does x=‐1/2 and not just -2? Doesn't 1 go into 2 two times? Then you just add the negative sign?
