Mistborn single handedly got me into fantasy. Before that I had read Lord of the Rings multiple times and Harry Potter but I was ignorant of the genre as a whole. I am now an avid fantasy reader thanks to Mistborn.

1) Spinning Silver - Naomi Novik
2) The Dark Forest - Liu Cixin (sequel to the Three-Body Problem, which is also extremely awesome)
3) Rebecca - Daphne du Maurier
4) Warbreaker - Brandon Sanderson
5) Uprooted - Naomi Novik

Mistborn was my first Sanderson book as well. I SO envy you the opportunity of still getting to experience the first era trilogy...and THEN...you have the entire SA! YOU ARE SO LUCKY!! Honestly, you're gonna love it!!

Mistborn didn’t grab me as much as it did other people, but Elantris was one of my favorites from last year. Other favorites were Slaughterhouse-Five (Vonnegut), The Malazan Book of the Fallen (the series as a whole, not individual books - Erikson), Batman: The Court of Owls Saga (Snyder, et al.), Atomic Habits (Clear), and Goodnight Punpun (series - Asano). Had some very good rereads and honorable mentions last year as well.

I just finished The Final Empire two days ago and I LOVED IT! I was almost positive that I would, and I was not disappointed. 😊 I'll be starting Malice at the end of the week. My copy of Senlin Ascends should be in around the middle of January and I look forward to reading it.
