Hey Ollie.
A point I'd like to add (and make more people mention ) is that junior doctors are not jumping on the 'striking bandwagon'. Since the 2016 contract we couldnt really strike (correct me if im wrong), we were all counting upto 2023 when we could renegotiate (and strike), it just happened to be when there was a cost of living squeaze.
Also I'd like to see your take/video on the government telling GP's in effect not to give sick notes, and 'help' people instead to 'find ways to work through illness'. Would attract a wide audience I think given the bizzare nature of it.

I'm an IMG junior doctor that started working in the UK very recently. So, I was not a part of BMA, and could not vote.
I hope you succeed, and you have my full support. Because as an IMG, I know that native trained doctor's voices are giving more weight in the eyes of the government.

I wonder how specific media channels will report on this result when the strikes start?

Any response to the "accidental" release of SJT results, 16 days early with no support, no context, absolutely nothing. Another major feck up that med students are left to deal with the stressful complications of?

The salary should not be compared to a general population salary. It should be compared apple to apple, not apple to an orange. I can understand why nhs junior doctors need to strike. Is it unthinkable why a doctor professions are paid so low in uk compared to a lot of developed or developing countries. Especially compared to those medically advanced countries. Feeling really sad that he said junior doctors are being taken advantage of. And I am not a doctor, but I looked at their hourly pay chart. It’s just so sad to know that a highly intelligent profession which is regarded as one of the most difficult profession in terms of years of training and high working pressure, yet is so undervalued.

Hi Ollie, best of luck to you and the rest of the UK doctors. Praying for your pay restoration -- you're overworked and underpaid. I hope you get what you guys deserve.

As a professional and someone who’s wife depends on the key services of consultant ran clinics, I think this abhorrent and callous.

My full support to the junior doctors who are the life blood of this organisation. However I cannot really see a light at the end of the tunnel with regard to these strikes. I dont think the government cares that people may die due to decades long issue with staffing.

This was a crucial win for the joiner's doctors, congratulations on that.
I came across a news platform with this article, but the public response was very bad.
I read comments like "fire them all" and "these greedy b ****".
I think ignorance of how alarming the situation is makes the public accuse the doctors with such intensity.

I came to UK as an IMG just to realise that doctor are under paid here too
Sometimes I think, Did I took the right decision ?

You need to realise that the Government doesn't really give a toss about the health of the nation. As far as they are concerned withdrawing your labour only furthers their 'agenda'. Just look at how far industrial action has gotten the nursing profession and ambulance service.

Hi Ollie, is it predominantly foundation doctors & core trainee doctors that are striking, and not so much specialty registrars? Thank you.

Ask any hospital Consultant (as I have) if they'd want their children to train as doctors and work for the NHS and the answer always comes back the same: NO!!!
