I worked out it is better to not work as a doctor at all and to seek a different profession. I have wrist pain from operating and my back and ankles ache from all the long hours 13+ hours a day when oncall and often without any breaks. Oncalls are almost every week. The patients complain over very basic things and the waiting lists are horrendous. The training is poor. My brother is a med student and he and his friends are planning on leaving as soon as they find jobs abroad. I also know many who have left to work abroad and I know many who are leaving the profession all together. I will also hopefully be finding my way into a better job one where my health is taken more seriously and I get a break to eat.

Hi Guys, I fucked off the NHS 5 years ago and moved to Norway to be a GP. Much nicer here. Like New Zeland but better. (closer)

In Ireland, back in 2012, we had a Minister of Health (a GP), who reduced the New-entrant consultant pay by 50%. This caused an awful lot of problems in Ireland, as it destroyed workplace morale. The seniors of the profession stood back and let it all happen.
