Figures at the end of January showed 6.1 million people were on a waiting list for treatment in England, with more than 310 thousand waiting more than a year. Well a new hospital's opened in Berkshire hoping to show how the problem can be dealt with

Regarding the statement above the backlog being caused by the pandemic, the backlog is actually caused by the decisions of Whitehall politburo cascading down the management structures of the health service.
