So many people will remain on Windows 10 without security updates. I have no doubt that this will be the new biggest target for malware if it wasn't already.

Microsoft doesn't give a sh*t about what people want.

registry hack didn't work for me. 74 yr old mom's gonna learn Linux Mint soon.

One thing about rufus: you may need to use MBR if you need to bypass requirements. For example, if your system isn't EUFI, GPT won't work to begin with as I recall.

14:09 They kind of mentioned that when you did registry edit method at 6:54

If you want to use the Rufus method without doing a full reset / keep your files and programs, follow the process here, but instead of booting from the USB media, just open it and run the modified installer as if you were running the mounted ISO! Just did it and it worked :)

Am I the only one shocked at how Henry can just point the camera, keep it steady, consistently track what he's aiming at, all while controlling the mouse with his other hand and doing stuff on the PC? That level of professionalism is something most people can only dream of achieving.

Thanks 😊

After testing many linux distros,
I finally chose,

Modern PC: Fedora Silverblue (GNOME)
Old PC: Fedora Budgie Spin

Both support Flatpak, Flathub apps, which are beginners friendly.

Most importantly, Fedora's OOTB privacy and security are top-notch.

Why would anyone want to install Windows 11? It's still a broken mess. Literally a few days ago, I had to format and re-install Windows 10 on my client's PC because Windows 11 refused to share files over the network to an older Windows 10 PC. I tried everything, and through research found out that this was a very common unsolvable problem with Windows 11 which Microsoft refuses to fix. So after re-installing 10 on her PC, I went through the registry and locked it at 22H2, so Microsoft can no longer force Windows 11 on her PC without her consent anymore (which is what it did before). I also did the registry thing for all of her other PCs. So now she can run her business without having to worry about Microsoft screwing her over again and costing her thousands of dollars daily.

Ive thought about doing this for a while now. Ive heard many say at some point any windows or security update for 11 might cause issues in the future if you install it on an unsupported machine. My PC is the same specs as yours and I see no reason to upgrade yet since it still does everything I need it to. Im really on the fence with this one but im leaning towards trying it.

linux and windows user here: IF you choose linux I HIGHLY suggest linux mint!, next....DO NOT DO NOT attempt to duel boot anything!, thats asking for huge problems!, what to do?, 1) create a linux mint bootable USB, 2) buy a SSD and UNHOOK your windows SSD/HDD and hook up your new empty SSD, 3) plug in your linux USB and start up pc and go to boot munu, THEN boot from your USB and install linux mint!. you now have 2 SSD's!, ONE is windows and the other one is linux mint. you now have 2 operating systems on 2 seperate hard drives, the best of both worlds.

Windows 24H2 requires SSE 4.2 and POPCNT which means anything older than a 6700K or a AMD Piledriver simply will not work as the kernel won't boot no matter what reg hacks you try so your only choices are Win 10 LTSC or go Linux.

Or... maybe it's time to switch to Linux. Mint is pretty decent to migrate to, I did it when Windows 8 came out and I would of have to replace my printer and expensive scanner to stay on Losedows (it's not a win eh)

Would you say W11 with no TPM and Secure Boot is safer than an unsupported W10?

Hopefully SteamOS computers will be more widespread and commercially available before Windows 12

Most updates that came after Windows 7 were further disappointments, not giving the feeling of polished user friendlyness and efficiency like Windows XP or Vista
Instead we have multimedia PCs that fail at it, hence why its "gamer PCs" that are widely popular but way overpriced after retail noticed the trend.

From an administrative command prompt I upgraded several 4th gen Dell machines with the "product server" switch. Example: c:\Windows 11 file directory\setup.exe /Product Server. There are a number of tutorial videos on youtube.
