for the living room with the rug from your previous place: Definitely place the rug about 8-12 inches under the front legs of your couch! That is how rugs are "supposed" to be in living rooms. You might also get away with floating the couch away from the back wall (which is a fun design move), but I can't tell if that will work in your space or not.

Kids room should be lighter color I feel, it gives some more positive vibes.

i was a climber. my mom always said i could run before i could walk. i climbed out of my crib, over baby gates, up onto counters. nowhere was safe from me. it's no wonder monkey was one of my nicknames. i attribute this early start to how strong my upper body strength i still have naturally. i could climb a rope all the way to the top with ease and still can. i i even beat all the students in health class with how long we could hold onto the bar....so just know it is possible you could have a strong lil climber getting into things on your hands! good luck with your lil bub!

I think your bed could look really nice centered under the windows next to where it is. It looks like both sides would have even wall space and accessibility would be easier. Not sure how much it would block the windows though. You could hang a photo over each bedside table too. Then you might be able to fit a short and slim bookcase/table along the wall where the top of the bed is now.

It’s definitely so enjoyable to watch how everything is getting put together!!

i think dark colored room is not a good idea in the long haul, look into some color psychology. darker colors make people feel heavier and make the vibe constantly gloomy. mix and match would be better. a single wall being dark and lightining it up with a cream color or very pale blue that is grey undertoned basically anything that will go with it
