But in case of sad/slow songs....you need to hold that microphone stand

It's actually really depends on the song you are singing.

That was very informative. I know if I sing, with, or without mic, if I am nervous and shaking. I dance and release the fear, otherwise my vocals tense up as well. It works to because I am able to sing better when I am not all tense and full of fear! Great Video!

I disagree, to me holding the mic makes the performer seem comfortable and relaxed. Thinking of the best frontmen off the top of my head, they all hold the mic and/or stand a lot... It's all opinions I guess. I can understand if they hold the mic stand the whole performance though. Then I agree, it's a crutch...

I definitely do this. Gonna try and stop for my next performance and going forward.

Song dependent... surely....look at Eddie vedder, Lane Staley, Chris Cornell, Myles Kennedy ... hundreds of great singers use the mic stand as a part of them...sure if you do a whole set stood behind it then maybe I get this point

Because I can't afford to have voice lessons, I will just subscribe to your channel. I've lost my voice for 5 months now, not my voice literally but my voice before that can sing any songs. I hope I can get it back.. Thanks for your videos, it will be a lot of help for me..

Any mic advice for singers who are playing guitar while singing? Thanks.

Would this work for heavy metal, too?

To me hands wide apart means listen to me I'm insignificant.

Anthony Kiedis hold the stand and the mic, and is one of the best frontmans. I have to disagree with this one

You are right they aren't confident. Another thing: Musicians shouldn't chew gum on stage either. It looks bad and is a no no in music performing and public speaking yet I see people doing it all the time. Annoying.

Spreading your arms out... Only works if you are from the US or on the Titanic I suppose

Sir my voice sounds good naturally but in the Mic it should I do

That is not true because sometimes we are feeling the song so much that we have to cling to that mic stand. It looks like you're feeling it in my opinion.
