Previous post makes valid points that would lead to a professional finish, but for this diy-er who just wanted to add some crown molding to a screen porch turned three season room, and after perusing numerous videos explaining the hows of it all, this was the clearest guide. I didn’t even mangle a single piece of bed molding! Thanks again.

brilliant video. thats a ton. You have 2 min videos giving clear instruction, others have 12 min videos with confusing methods.

No jig, large molding, small the man! You saved me a ton of work and money. No need to rent a large saw or hire someone to install my 10" crown moldings.

Thank you for making it so simple to understand. Other videos make it complicated and confusing by talking too much. Great video

Duly noted. I wish I had come here prior to going through 10 ft of molding. It's only because of this video that my wife still has confidence in me. Thanks Mr. Udecor!

WOW !! This saved me alot of time. I counted all the inside corners and outside corners left and right, and cut them all just like you showed. They were all perfect and I saved both videos for quick future reference. You're a life saver !! Thanks a million ! 👍

This is a good way to both injure yourself and also cut an imprecise miter. A safer and more accurate method is to cut the molding upside down, so that you can brace it against both the saw fence and table. This is how most people cut crown molding. A simple search will yield multiple videos on this technique. I have never seen it done like in this video. Also, more often than not, your outside corners will not be a perfect 90 degrees. You need to measure the angle and do some math, or the two pieces will not join correctly.
