Meaning in Life Without Free Will?

I wonder if we are stuck between "god's will" or "free will"... Sometimes, it seems like "will" is something like "energy changing in a way that has an internal cause" The more internal the cause, the "freer" the will. The more external the cause, the more it is "god's will" or just entropy acting on things...
