Will be nice to clarify that Middle East is NOT North Africa. It always annoys me when the west wants to make it sound like it's one region. Egypt, Morrocco, Tunisia and Algeria are in Africa!!

3:35 Well, as long as Pakistan is alive, India's biggest concern is Pakistan, not China. They have ballistic missles, Air Forces, yeah, yeah, yeah, but they can't fight a war only in the Air, what will they do? Send troops with the plaines over the Himalayas and wait until they will get shot by each other? No. India and China can have a confrontation only in South-Eastern Asia, but again as India's greatest concern is Pakistan, it will focus on Pakistan, not China. And China's greatest concern is the U.S and Japan, not India.

The modern European collision began in 1954-1964 with Asian, African, West Indian immigration into the UK and from Algeria into France and Turks into West Germany.
The mass movement of people has much to do with increased movability of money and capital with changes in global financial and money system in 1967-1985. That is very significant in the exodus of talent from NZ and Australia and cultural backlash of returnees travelling back south and encountering the less talented static residuals.

Yeah, that buzzer is fucking annoying.
Otherwise, Kaplan has a wealth of experience and interesting-if not always correct-analysis. More Kaplan. Less Bourdain and similar hack posers.

I would say Languages "make us" than maps. Any society is formed on philosophies which is propagated through a common tounge. Maps are drawn afteerwards
