"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" was written in 1943 by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blaine for the classic Christmas film "Meet Me in St. Louis" starring Judy Garland.

Since Judy Garland's original recording there have been many cover versions of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" including Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Michael Buble and Sam Smith, whose 2014 version this recording is based on.

This song was written for the 1944 movie Meet Me In St. Louis starring Judy Garland. In the past 78 years, it has been recorded by scores of artists including Ol' Blue Eyes Frank Sinatra. I have heard many singers tackle this song but, in my opinion, Lucy's interpretation is by far the best. What sets Lucy apart from other singers is something that cannot be taught even with all the vocal training in the world. Lucy gives every song which she sings everything she has got. She sings from the heart. That is why so many commenters on her videos say she has a beautiful spirit or soul. It is a privilege and pleasure to listen to the musical masterpieces which Lucy creates.

Why isn't this young woman super popular and super famous worldwide already? I think she has the whole package: artistry (musical and presence), beautiful voice, control of her instrument, and she is beautiful (I am not one that uses that word easily) too.
