Scientists find first evidence of two-part clitoris in snakes

Researchers have found the first evidence of the two-part clitoris in female snakes.

The research involved the examination of female genitalia in adult snake specimens across nine species, compared to adult and juvenile male snake genitalia.

Across the animal kingdom, female genitalia is “still taboo” and “overlooked” in comparison to their male counterparts, according to Megan Folwell from the School of Biological Sciences.
