Unfortunately, fireflies became rare sight in my country. Last time I saw them was 2 years ago and last time before that was 17 years ago (from now). I'd happily trade all wasps, mosquitoes and cockroaches for them.

The thing I've noticed is that the places in the US that don't get them call them fireflies, while they places that do get them call them lightning bugs.

Alot of insects are in danger of extinction due to humans light pollution makes fireflies scarce in brightly lit areas,
Not to mention the pesticides
