Honestly, the lucky people would be within the blast zone. They would be gone instantly. Those who are outside the blast zone would have to brace for the volcanic ash and just the eruption itself would be catastrophic to humans on this continent.

After some research, I learned that Yellowstone could erupt anytime between now and 55 thousand years. That means that there is a 1/55000 chance of it erupting this year! Let's not worry too much...

Gotta say, thanks for doing this episode guys. I live in Wyoming, just about 75 miles away from Yellowstone. And ever since I was little when I was first told that Yellowstone was a volcano I've always feared a eruption. But the information you have given me from this is good to know, and has eased my mind. Thanks guys.

all of that volcanic ash should make the soil in that area much more fertile after the fact. Won't help anyone caught in it, but afterwards it could provide benefits to those farmers and the agricultural industry.

I don't worry about the Yellowstone supervolcano AT ALL.  I live close enough to it that I will be one of those that die instantly.  I won't even know that it erupted.  No big whoop.
