First Time in Finland | 48 Hours in Helsinki

We have arrived in Finland for the very first time and we are so excited to kick start our winter Christmas European getaway with 48 hours right here in Helsinki!

Day 1 of Jess epic European Christmas she has dreamt of as a kid begins with hot chocolates, roasting sausages by the fire in a red traditional hut.
Cafe: Cafe Regatta Helsinki

Next up we needed to try a Finnish tradition - their Finnish spa experience of getting warmed up in a sauna and then jumping into icy cold water (don't ask me why they do it!)
Spa: Loyly Helsinki

We then attempted to find some Christmas markets (we were a tad early) so we resorted to some hot Glögi before calling it a night.

The next day we went to market square to try some warm creamy salmon soup, headed to Christmas street -
Aleksanterinkatu street before buying some christmas socks for our next stop

Finland has been my home for 10 years. And I must say to everyone, it is a must to see during Christmas because of the lights, the Christmas market, and all the traditions. It is expensive but if you are a foreigner and plan out your trip you can easily have a good time for a good price!!!!

Thanks for awaking me to visit Helsinki! As a finn, it is easy to forget what we have here, and instead travel abroad. Your video made me want to go see what we actually have on our own :-)

6:52 Those raisins (sultans you said) and almonds are for glögi. You put them IN your mug and spoon them to your mouth after you have finished the glögi.

Hello, I don't know you, I found you by accident on YouTube when I was looking for something about Finland. And thank you very much, you've made me feel incredibly good. I was in Finland a few years ago and I really liked it, but I don't have much money to travel anymore, so you reminded me of those beautiful times. Thank you very much, you made me happy... :)

Tippaleipä, the pastry from the food market is actually normally eaten on first of may! I never knew you could even get it from somewhere at some other time of the year 😄
