Guy Adams of the Daily Mail was interviewed by Nick Ferrari of LBC on the planned rail strikes by workers, and like a good pro-Tory hack, he took the side of the government and attempted to trash protections for workers that Grant Shapps is seeking to remove as part of an drive to make the rail network work more efficient.

You must have made a mistake! There are no journalists working at the Daily Mail that I know of😀

"Make it run more efficiently" means cutting corners on safety, and hurting the pockets of the workers

I'm railway myself, I earn a nice 34 grand a year and have been working here for 13 years. I'm pleased to see that much of the public are seeing us as their fellow workers and not the enemy this time. None of us want to go on strike, it costs us money too and we dont like to inconvenience the public. One of our biggest issues is they keep trying to bring agency staff in to undermine us too. how can the workforce be turned into zero hour agency staff and still expect to have a future? Cheers for the good work bringing this up on youtube!

Striking is bad for business apparently, not striking is the reason we have zero-hour contracts, wages well below inflation and a third of Brits in working poverty... But I for one am glad to keep allowing the wealthy to double their assets through every recession. Although If I tighten my belt anymore I'll cut myself in two...

The words of someone who has never been out off an office in his life. The spokesman of no one, and the mouthpiece of the right wing. Disgusting.

I thought Johnson wanted a high wage economy? Celebrating a median average of £26k? Uk is a low wage economy. Exactly what the Tories want.

The Daily Mail relies on its readership not getting past the headline !

Unions and striking has proven time and again to be a very effective method of protecting worker's interests. I don't think the government will survive this.

The fact that they've put their propaganda machine into high gear indicates just how scared they are of the effects these strikes will have on their grip. The practiced indignant chuckles make this farce of a broadcast even more satirical.

The trouble is there are too many of the public buying this guff

Privitisation in name only.
Rail firm struggling? No problem - tax payers will bail them out. Making outrageous profits? Yay for the shareholders! Paying the public back? Feck that!

His words are the same as the Tories'. It's all to please the racists, xenophobes, and the stripping away of fundamental rights.

The boss does not come along just to speak. Never. I worked on the railways my father. grandfather & great grandfather & this never happens unless it is about work. The lies they tell the public were extreme then & are now. Nothing changes. It is a dangerous job and needs careful safety rules. There was always higher rates for Sunday work since the year dot not some immense sum.

Ask an airline pilot who checks the aircraft before a flight - then consider that there can be more people on a train than an aircraft.

If we want to talk about inefficient and mad practices - let's take look at the House of Commons !

Watched a cab video once on a journey I used to take regularly, Scarborough to York. On that stretch there are something like 76 farm crossings on the line and the driver has to memorise them all. Someone who's not trained on that can't run it.

Planes by law have to undergo checks. The airline mechanics check the plane out and while the plane is about to take on passengers the new flight crew usually the Co pilot does a once over around the plane to see if anything was missed. So the plane gets checked twice after that usually the Co pilot signs it off. Train drivers do exactly the same. It's for safety.
