If you're here because you're getting two flashes after trying to program limits and it's not going into the set force mode --->> try this: disengage the door and run through the limit set procedure and then engage the door and go again. This worked for me, and it automatically completed the force set programming.

Clearest instructions I've seen, the manual doesn't include the last up and down travel. Without that last 2 extra steps, I get an error code of 5 flashes from the lights. Also thanks for the tip about the door moving an extra inch after adjustment.

Five years later and this video is still helping people! My door was freezing to the ground and I used this to set it to stop just shy of touching so that it doesn’t stick to the ground again

Had an issue where I didn’t back my car up far enough and the garage door hit on my front lip and it got stuck and then it started making a grinding noise. After that it wouldn’t stay close and you could tell it overcompensated when it closed the belt would start to bend like in this video. And when I opened the garage door it wouldn’t fully open all the day. Luckily I found this video and used the directions and it works perfectly! Thank you! You saved me whatever I probably would have spent on getting one of their pros to come check it out.

Danny, it's rare for me to find instructions on exactly what I need to know. Your video was exactly what I needed to finish installing wiring on the ceiling for my new table saw. Great Job!

My liftmaster myQ was reversing about half way when closing. After a few days trouble shooting. This video helped me re-adjust the travel module and now I get a complete close.
Thank you.

Excellent tip about stopping the downward travel about an inch before hitting the ground. That’s crucial to keeping stress off the mounting bracket. My mounting bracket busted because someone who said it wrong and I had to reinstall it. This pro tip really saved today! Thanks, Danny

FYI video in deed.... However if you go up and down to many times to set the limits the motor can get hot and protect itself and shut off. I learned the hard way to wait 30 min and try again after the repair man was out telling me nothing was wrong, but it was over heated lol.

Danny you saved me at least $167 for a call charge they wanted for a 5 minute fix that you showed us. Also helped with the down door stress on the mounting bracket as mentioned before me.😀

Thank you. This video was a help. My opener started behaving funny following a power outage. One thing I will add, if you have an opener with a battery backup like mine and you’re trying to completely reboot, the unit you will have to pull the battery. I was going through the same sequence as on your video, but not getting the same result. So I figured a reboot would be a good idea. I unplugged the unit, but then remembered that I had a battery back up. It wasn’t until I disconnected the battery and then plugged the unit back in. Then got it to behave the way it should while resetting it.

Had the opposite problem where it only closed 1/4 way. Used the button setup accordingly and the garage door is back in order, thank you good sir!

Very informative and helpful as I need to stop my garage door from opening all the way. My favorite part of the whole video was when the door opened and BAM Screaming Yellow '04 Cobra. I have that same car lol. Bought it brand new in 2004.
