How do I keep my garden hydrangea blue?

Sprinkle the soil with aluminium sulphate or potassium alum in the first half of September.
Do not pour the sulphate on the foliage or the flowers.
If your hydrangeas still do not stay blue after this, use slightly acidic peat with a pH of 4 to 4.5.
