Canada: "we have to look to see if there is a business case. The regulatory challenges might make projects uneconomic"
Germany: "but you are the government, you can change the regulations...we did that to build our LNG terminals in the north to accelerate the process materially"
Canada: ...
Germany: ...?
Canada: There is no business case. Sorry. Maybe we can send you some wool to help keep you warm?

Canada should have developed the necessary infrastructure for transport and export of Oil and Gas many years ago but it’s never too late to make the right decision.

Captain Crayon, doesn't like LNG. It's not green enough.

The 2 amigos could have had this fruitless chat over zoom.
-“Need natural gas and oil bro”.
—“Sorry man, no can do this decade”.
-“Ok let’s talk about current affairs then”
—“Cool! Like my haircut?”

The LNG project proposals in BC have been buried in bureaucratic quicksand for years.
What investors would risk supporting these proposals that are mired in huge costs and delays?

in Canada we have a lot of oil in AB, NL, SK etc. ..we should increase production, even if its in the short term until other substitutes are feasible ..

Could we run a pipeline and tankers out of Churchill or somewhere further north on the west side of Hudson's Bay? Use some of the gas piped to run infrastructure, such as water filtration, along the way? Just bypass Quebec.

n March, when the conflict in Ukraine – in which Berlin sided with Kiev, supplying it with arms and slapping harsh sanctions on Moscow – had just started, he was backed by 46%, but in April, the number dropped to 38%. Despite being Europe’s top economy, Germany has been hit hard by soaring gas prices as it faces the risk of energy shortages this winter. On Sunday, the head of the German central bank warned that “an inflation rate of even 10% is possible in the autumn months, ” something which has not been seen in the country for more than 70 years. Natural gas in the United States today costs $333 per 1, 000 cubic meters. Meanwhile, Washington sells it to Europe at 7.3 times the price, making the economy of the EU countries uncompetitive. What’s more, inflation in the Eurozone has already hit a record of 8.9%.

How can Canada export LNG to Europe without infrastructure in place?

The Prime Minister of Quebec sure would be finding ways to ship western LNG and oil overseas if those damn inconvenient natural resources were from Quebec…

Why is Canada’s energy costs so high, forget shipping our energy out until our prices go back down.

Quebec should allow for an Eastern pipeline project to commence. This is necessary for NATO allies and would be beneficial for a country heavily burdened with debts and deficits.

I remember a Political Official saying that if Germany put their energy needs mostly in Russia that Germany would have a major problem. So he comes to Canadas door looking for energy.
We as a so called country can't even support our own needs and we have it all here . Makes no sense to sell to orther so called countries until our own needs are met .
We can't supply anything between provinces mainly because of Quebec.
Such a shame The Dominion Of Canada has become

What a good interview. Thanks Vashi!!. Apalled to see how the short view of Qc's goverments dictates the energy policy in Canada.
