Fun fact: The "B17 Piggyback incident" Was found at tettens field, northern germany.
How the b17s gor in piggybank is that the Lower B17, Nine lives had its co pilot, pilot killed, only the crew had survived,
The Little skipper on the other hand, had a large snap that was heard all over the little skipper.
But trying to get home, it went wrong. one of the engines of the nine lives ignited, The crew of the two B17's Parachuted away, The remaning ones were the co-pilot and piot of the little skipper.
The Little skipper's Electrics, exetra failed when the engine ignited.
Now the little skipper had to do some manouver, so they had to bellyflop on the mini-mountain.
They then landed on tettens field, the nine lives desintigrated on the impact, the left wing of the little skipper detached, then the pilots nest decoupled, throwing it carefully away.

The nine lives was actually the one that crashed into the little skipper (The gray B-17 crashed onto the bottom of the green one, the green one was flying straight)
